Police handcuffed five anti-abortion
protesters this morning at a demonstration
outside the Knoxville Center for
Reproductive Health.
V/O
Twelve anti-abortion protesters tried to
block the building’s entrance.
While abortion rights protestors
counter-demonstrated on the sidewalk.
No one was charged today, but police
warned protesters starting next week they
will be prosecuted for racketeering.
[Burton: It’s a crime to block clinic
entrances and to harass those entering or
leaving. 5 seconds]
[Herrman: The only illegal thing going on
here is the slaughter of the innocent, and
with God’s help we will be here until it
stops. 8 seconds]
The clinic’s director said there were no
abortions scheduled at the clinic today, and
its schedule was not disrupted.
