It’s time to shop for prom dresses

Girls, prom season is upon us, and the clock is ticking, so if you want to be the belle of the ball, you’d better have your strapless bras ready and start hitting the shops.

Truly a best kept secret, Wedding Belles Bridal Shoppe in Drums can satisfy all your prom and special occasion needs. Owner Gloria Jean, along with her husband, travels to Atlanta and New York City so that you can have big city styles right here in NEPA.

Pictured here is a dress by Flirt. It has an asymmetrical black and white striped bodice and a simple black a-line skirt. Other popular designers include: Tiffany Designs, Riva Designs, Alfred Angelo and Scala.

If you don’t mind your date seeing the dress before the big night, bring him along for the fitting. Wedding Belles also offers a wide selection of tuxedos, eliminating the whole “Do I have to match you?” or “What color is your dress?” affair that confuses almost every 18-year old boy.

Wedding Belles accepts all major credit cards and like most dress shops, has one dress one school registration. Alterations can be done right in the shop, but Gloria asks for two-three weeks of cushion time.

The shop is located in the Rittenhouse Plaza on 309 in Drums. For more information or to make an appointment, call 570.788.3206.

Ashley Cerasaro is a former Weekender intern who attends King’s College in Wilkes-Barre. She loves to shop.
