VERY ‘VETTE: The Corvette
has been making car enthusiasts salivate since January 1953, and
for the past 10 years, Fairway Chevrolet, Rt 309 in Hazleton, has
celebrated this passion with a Corvette Club Show. On Saturday,
June 4 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., approximately 100 Corvettes
will be on display, including a mint 1953 Corvette and the desirable
1966 model. These cars and other Corvette models are being provided
by The Corvette Heritage Tour. “If you love cars, come out
because you’re going to see some great looking Corvettes.
This event is fun for the whole family,” says Richie Molinaro,
director of advertising, marketing, and sales at Fairway. For more
information call Fairway in Hazieton at 570.455.7701.
Singing
for Soldiers: Do you live for Karaoke? Do you like helping
out good causes? If you’ve answered yes, this is the event
for you. On Saturday, June 4, McCarthy’s Tavern on Northampton
St. in Wilkes-Barre will be hosting “Songs for Soldiers”
at which those who want to sing, take pledges. The singers who accumulate
the most pledges will win prizes. Soldiers from the unit being supported
will be present. Karaoke and festivities start at 8pm. Pledge forms
can be picked up at McCarthy’s or printed from the organization’s
website www.228thsoldiersupport.com. Call 570.574.2990 for more
info.
